Selected Works from our Young Artists
Projects from our Animation and Illustration Camp:
Weekly Themes Included:
Nature Art Week
In Nature Art Camp, our students explored the incredible art found in nature! Campers studied the works of Claude Monet and Vincent van Gogh and experimented with fun techniques and mediums like impasto textures.
We had a special guest from the Chattahoochee Nature Center present a program on-site and special guests who helped us in a fairy house workshop. We topped off the week with a field trip to the gardens at Spectrum next door.
Animal Art Week
Students explored the wild world of animals in art—studying artists like Grandma Moses, Frida Kahlo, and John James Audubon, learning about styles from Surrealism to Magic Realism, and experimenting with painting, drawing, and cardboard projects.
We even had a special guest from My Reptile Guys for a live animal visit!
Illustration & Animation
In our Illustration & Animation Camp students used iPads, Apple Pencils, Procreate, and Stop Motion Studio to create original digital artwork, animated scenes, and mini stop-motion videos.
Campers explored cartooning, claymation, storyboarding, stop motion, and character design while learning how illustrators and animators bring stories to life.
We also studied animator Nick Park and the creative team behind Bluey.
Design & Bold Colors
In our Design & Bold COLORS Camp, artists explored the exciting worlds of Modernism, Postmodernism, Pop Art, and Graphic Design through hands-on projects inspired by some of the most influential artists and designers of the 20th century.
Scene Study Performance
Rising 4th-9th graders jumped into the world of Annie JR. for a fun-filled week of acting, singing, and dancing! Students explored scenes, learned choreography, and built their performance skills in a supportive, high-energy environment. The week wrapped up with a scene study performance for family and friends.
Food, Fun, & Self-Portraits (From our Winter Camp)
Inspired by René Magritte and Salvador Dalí, campers created surreal portraits and imaginative artwork with watercolor, drawing, paper-mâché, and more.
